Joining a Group

Need help with joining a group on the site? We've listed several questions and answered them here in the event you need help. If you still need help after reading them, please Contact Us.

Why would I want to join a group?

For youth who are exploring the site with a registered adult (like their teacher, parent, mentor or someone else they're learning from who's also registered on The Youthhood Web site), you'll want to join their group. The reason is this: In order for them to give you feedback on things that you do on the site, like your Life Map goals or Class Notebook entries, you need to join their group. This way, they can log in to the site using their own username and password, look over your entries, and write comments for you to see the next time you log in with your username and password! Kinda cool, huh?

How do I get a Group Code?

If you need to join a group, you'll need your teacher's/parent's/mentor's Group Code. To get their Group Code, ask them for it! It's that simple.

Do I have to join a group to explore the site?

No! You don't have to join a group unless you're working through The Youthhood with an adult who's also registered on the site. If you're not given a Group Code, don't worry about it.

How do I join a group?

If you're given a Group Code, then keep it with you when you register (don't worry, it's not a secret code or anything - it's OK if someone else sees this code). The registration form will ask you for your Group Code, if you have one. Just enter the letters and numbers there.

Or, if you've already registered, log in to The Youthhood site, select the "Join Groups" link in the top right part of the screen, and enter the Group Code there.
