Step 4: Confirm Group Members

Having completed steps 1-3 (see left sidebar), you are now ready to confirm that the youth who requested to join your group can indeed join (to prevent hackers from entering your group). You will receive an e-mail from youthhood@umn.edu informing you of any new requests to join your group, as well as instructions on how to confirm them.

To confirm youth in your group, follow the instructions in the e-mail, or:

  1. Login to the site
  2. Go to "Manage Groups" in the upper right part of screen (seen when logged in)
  3. Select the group name to confirm members (it will appear in red if there are unconfirmed members).
  4. Select "Confirm Now" to enter the page to confirm members.
  5. Select the names of individuals you wish to confirm.
  6. Select "Confirm Member"

NOTE: You may also use the Manage Groups page to remove members from a group, if a person has exited the group. This will not impact their access to the site; it will only prohibit you from seeing their work.

As a reminder, please prepare you and your youth for a secure journey through The Youthhood by completing Step 5: Review Security Tips.
