Introduction to Disability History

Throughout history, there have been problems within society that have put people with disabilities down. People with disabilities have often been told by others they could not be leaders. People with disabilities have even been told they should not make basic decisions about how to live their own lives because other people knew what was best for them. These problems for people with disabilities usually happened because of other people’s attitudes.

This section of The Youthhood has lots of interesting information that shows the ways people with disabilities have worked together to change the attitudes of others. Check it out!
