From day to day, health is basically about feeling well – in body and mind – so you can do the things you want and need to do in order to have a great life.
Taking care of your body (your physical health) means:
- eating nutritional food
- getting enough sleep
- exercising
- avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and drugs
Taking care of your mind (your mental health) means:
- doing all the things you need to do to be physically healthy
- finding time to rest and relax, taking time to have fun
- developing friendships and finding people in your life who will listen to you and support you by assisting you in solving problems and making decisions
Sound like a lot of work? Well, it is. You are a complex system – it’s a lot of work to take care of yourself.
